|4.||Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars|
It is my pleasure to announce the six inaugural members of the University of Florida's new Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars:
These outstanding educators have demonstrated sustained innovation and commitment to teaching throughout their careers. They also have articulated their vision for promoting excellence across campus to the faculty committee that reviewed nominees to the Academy.
Academy Scholars will serve three years as the Advisory Board for the University Center for Excellence in Teaching (UCET) www.ucet.ufl.edu. During their tenure, they will assist UCET in developing campus-wide strategies to enhance our pedagogical environment. In addition, Academy members will serve to elect future Scholars. After they complete their inaugural terms, they will retain the title of Distinguished Teaching Scholar and continue to be part of the Academy, albeit in a less active role.
More information about the Academy, the role of members, and nomination and selection procedures can be obtained from Dr. Dave Bloomquist, Director of UCET, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please join me in congratulating this first group of Distinguished Teaching Scholars for their contributions to the university.
